Ashley Comes to Visit!

Ashley's life was interrupted with an inconvenient (for her and Davy) stay at our house while my parents were out of town. Davy never wanted to go into this room until there was a cat friend he thought he could play with!

We thought the drying rack would give the cat a chance to come and go without being trapped in the guest room but keep Davy out. He still tried.

Can't hide long!

Happy Birthday Raymond!

Ray celebrated his 34th birthday February 5th. After dinner with his family we headed to his parents house for cake and ice cream.

They got creative with the candles! :)
As part of his week-long celebration, we went to BJ's! I was a good wife and got him a power tool. :)

He requested a chocolate pie. My mom makes the best and was kind enough to help me make his.

Mexican Train

When our family gets together we love to play games, and usually it is a game of Mexican Train.

I really call it dominoes, but I'm corrected by my dad that that isn't correct! You can tell this man takes his games seriously!
Guess who won!

When Doug came back later to talk with my parents about marrying Jamie he wanted to play. That's a good sign and he'll fit in really well! :)

Family Pictures

For whatever reason, we didn't get a whole family picture during Christmas. So my mom was adamant that we get a family picture before Jamie went to Phoenix. We started out in the backyard. Thankfully Doug was there to take the pictures. The cool thing about my new camera that we used is that it takes a lot of pictures really fast. And so Doug did just that. He took a lot of pictures...over 150 pictures! Lucky you only get to see a few. They are fun to look at because he captured everything which now documents what we went through to get a family picture!

Ray kept leaning on me and finally pushed me off the stool.
We realized these wouldn't work because my dad was off centered. But at that point he already was done and went inside. So we got some of just the girls.

Jamie posing again!
Then it was just our turn. We decided to hold our hands like the college girls do on facebook. Clearly it took some discussion. Unfortunately those pictures didn't turn out.

Cute couple

Another cute couple! :)

So we tried the whole family picture again inside. I don't remember what was so funny! But it was!

Ray felt the need to put his arm on me. I didn't like that...everyone else had their arms down. To bad we ruined it because it's great of everyone else!

Oh wait! Let's get Ashley...she's a part of the family! It didn't start out good.
Check out Jamie's face! I love that my dad and Ray are oblivious to what is going on!
I should just let go!

Finally!

I Got a New Camera

I have been wanting a SLR camera (that sounds like I know what I'm talking about but I don't. I just wanted a camera that could give me a blurry background and not take forever between shots.) I am an avid blog reader and so many people have these great pictures that I was jealous of their pictures. So my Christmas present was money towards one.

I have had more fun taking pictures. Tons.Of.Pictures. Tons of pictures of the same thing. My living room and dog!

This is my first picture that had a blurry background. Nothing important, just my glass sitting next to me, but I was thrilled!
I also got another lens. The first time I was able to try it out was when I was at home with my family. It gets an even more blurry background!

Jamie is such a poser!

My pretty mother!

Snow/Ice Days

Day 1 of no school brought ice! Luckily there was no damage for us as I know that much of the state lost power!Day 2 brought snow! It was so beautiful!

And of course Davy loved being out in it! Do you see his little tongue eating the snow flakes?

We also ventured out to a Thunder game with Jamie and Doug. (Her camera has the picture of all of us.)

Day 3 and 4 of no school brought nothing. No more snow/ice and no melting. Ray was off one of days I was and so it was really great to spend time with him!
I was fascinated by the formation of icicles along our house.

I'm sad these days are over. I have really enjoyed resting, reading, cleaning, and hanging out at home. Although I think that at the end of the year when we make these days up I'll dread it.

Happy February!

It's not surprising how this turned out! :)
