Swimming at Sissy's

We brought Davy to Sissy's. He loved meeting new friends!

This was his favorite friend Duffy.

To get Davy in the pool Ray tricked him by calling him across the pool.

He just wanted to be close Raymond!

Dogs aren't allowed in the hot tub.

I think we have a stubborn dog even with the stairs moved away.

Jamie wanted to swim with Davy.
He didn't want to get in unless Ray was in.

Just stepping in.

Clearly Jamie doesn't like being splashed.
Loving to swim around

Fun with the Fam

After a fun morning checking out garage sales, we then had to take our cousin and aunt to Cuppies and Joe for some yummy cupcakes!
We also had a Sunday afternoon picnic in the backyard with more aunts, cousins, and grandparents and fun backyard games.

God Bless OBU

Our cousin Allie has plans to go to OBU in a couple of years. They just moved to New Orleans and so on their visit just before they moved, we thought it would be fun to take her to Shawnee to check it out.
It was such a fun walk down memory lane seeing where we lived and where we went to class. I really wished that we could have walked into WMU to see our old dorm rooms from our freshman year. But it was closed for renovations. I hadn't been there since Jamie graduated 5 years ago. There were a few changes like the athletic center and the GC. But a lot has stayed the same.
Then of course we had to get a snow cone. The perfect cold treat on a hot day.

Later that evening we had a good time hanging out and eating homemade icecream. Raymond did a great job!

Out with the OLD

...in with the NEW dishwasher! When I moved into this house, I already knew that the dishwasher was a piece. I even thought it was broken and spent a week washing everything by hand. It definitely looks old!
Luckily Raymond was able to figure it out and got it working. Well, after 2 years of me talking about getting a new one, and several months of looking at adds, we finally bought one. I was so impressed with my handy dandy husband that could install it for free!

Its amazing the difference it makes! I LOVE it!! (Raymond especially loves it...he's usually the one who works it the most.) :)

Pool in the backyard

With it being so hot we decided to get Davy a kiddie pool for the backyard to help him keep cool. When we first introduced him to it he wasn't sure what to think about it except that it was a great water bowl.

We had to throw one of his toys in the water for him to get in.

We now know he is in it all the time because there will be many times when we let him in and he is wet all over. The best is when he jumps in, sits down, gets a drink, and then hops out again. It's also his latest play toy. Last night I watched him dragging it to the middle of the yard. He is so strong.
He must have cracked it, because now it doesn't hold any water!

Memorial Day

We love any day that Raymond has off, and so for Memorial Day, we decided to spend the day at Red Rock Canyon. I was so excited to go! I put together a fun picnic and was packed ready to enjoy nature!
We found a really shady, secluded spot for us to set up. Davy was extra excited and so we had to tie him away from our blanket and food. You can tell in the picture that he wasn't so happy. Plus I forgot about the bugs...you can tell I was lovin it!
After we ate, we walked to a little pond where Ray could fish. I sat in the lawn chair with my magazines and enjoyed the beautiful scenery.
It was nice and sunny when all of a sudden it began to pour. You know I melt in the rain so I ran to our car and drove it back to where we were. But there was no way a wet muddy dog could get back into the car. So they had to wait out the storm outside. :)The rain lightened up and Ray went back to fishing. Davy didn't seem too impressed with his catch.
The storm passed over and the temperature was perfect. (When we left our car said 71 and when we got home it was up to 88.) We decided to play a game at a picnic table. Of course Davy wanted to play too.
He finally settled on sitting next to Raymond. This is one of my favorite pictures.

Summer time for me!

This week is my first official week of summer where I don't have ANYTHING going on. It's fabulous! My main job to tackle is our home, which hasn't received much attention since before school was out. The end of the year is one of the busiest times. Having to wrap everything up, getting things sorted to pass on to next years teachers, writing awards, and packing up a classroom for the summer takes a lot of time. Plus I was getting things ready to teach Great Expectations. Of course Raymond was such a great help. It did make it easier for him to come if we could catch up on our shows off the Internet. The Smartboard made for a great screen.

So I promise to update what has happened since school has been out. Coming up: Memorial Day, Jamie come homes, and of course Davy! :)
